The Collection |  Technology Room

Since its inception in 1978, Williams F1 has built a global reputation as a forerunner in the field of engineering excellence.

Leading the way in developing innovative technologies, such as the ground floor effect of the 80s, active ride suspensions, ABS, traction control units and semi-automatic gearboxes of the 90s and flywheel technologies being developed today, the team's engineering prowess has taken the team to nine World Constructors' Championships in some of the most sophisticated machinery ever designed.

The Conference Centre's instructive Technology Room takes visitors right into the heart of those Formula One technologies, laying bare the essential components which comprise a Formula One car, from the aerodynamics to composites, electronics to hydraulics, as well as safety technologies such as driver protection in and out of the car.
